LED Creative deliver new BYTE Controller for Dancing on Ice
Having provided over 2000 metres of LED to the elaborate set created by Scenic Designer Dominic Tolfts, the LED specialists supplied their recently upgraded BYTE Controller system to deliver precision control over the vast array of LED lighting effects used at the show.
Designed and built by the LED Creative in house Technical Team, BYTE is a state of the art controller unit developed specifically to work in unison with the company’s Sigma product range.
Simple to set up, BYTE provides maximum artistic control with minimum programming time. Addressing, mode and test functions are all directly accessible via on board menus with real time start/end point editing, allowing instant control of up to 2400 pixels spread across 8 intelligent outputs. For added convenience, BYTE’s selection of on board effects can be precisely manipulated in real time, to allow seamless merges or overlaps of multiple layers, background colours and effects.
Exclusively available to rent via LED Creative, BYTE is intuitive, intelligent and requires no prior networking knowledge. Capable of delivering almost infinite, instantaneous results, the system is the perfect accompaniment to highly artistic, incredibly versatile, large scale designs such as Dancing on Ice.
Able to execute a huge variety of looks, the DOI set has been cleverly devised to maximise the visual impact of the controllable colour, movement and intensity that creates the show’s dazzlingly dynamic backdrop.
From high octane rock to sublime pop ballads, BYTE easily manges the colourful sweeps and smooth transitions that accompany each performance, in perfect sync with the show’s lighting and video design.
Commenting on the project, LED Creative project Manager Tim Rees says “Our BYTE Controllers are a perfect match for large scale scenic designs like Dancing on Ice. They are incredibly intuitive yet provide amazing levels of real-time control; essential for fast paced live shows such as this. The crew have created some incredible looks throughout the series – we’re delighted to have played our part in building the look”.
